Thunderbird 1.5 Open the Tools menu and choose Account Settings. Click Add Account. Choose "Email account" and click Continue. Enter your name and CIS email address. If you have a mail alias set up, you can use that address here. Click Continue. Select IMAP and enter mail.cis.rit.edu in the Incoming Server field. If you have an Outgoing Server field, put it there as well - otherwise you will need to add it after you're done setting up the account. Click Continue. Enter your CIS username in the Incoming User Name field and Click Continue. Enter a friendly name for your email account, like "My CIS Email", click Continue, and click Done. If you didn't have an Outgoing Server field above, go to the bottom of the list in the Accounts window (which doesn't have a title on a Mac) and choose Outgoing Server (SMTP). Click Add. Put something along the lines of "CIS Email" in the Description field. Enter mail.cis.rit.edu in the Server Name field. Make sure "Use name and password" is unchecked, then click OK. You can set this account to be your default outbound account if you don't send mail from any other addresses.
